Password reset
IU password reset:
Below are instructions on how to change your IU password, in case your account has been compromised or you want to change because of a forced password reset. Remember any devices you have signed into your email or IU account will need to have the password changed after following these instructions.
If you are at one of the IU buildings to change your password, you would hit the keys Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time while on the laptop, select Change a password. Put in your old password and then type the new password.
If you are offsite first, open an internet browser and type in outlook.com in the address bar, then hit Sign in:

Next, put in your IU email address;

Another box may open or sometimes it will automatically go into web based email”
In the box put in your email address and present password and hit Ok:

This will log in you into the web based email. On the web page look for your initials or picture on the top bar to the right top corner of the web page (next to the bell icon) click on that then select View account:

Next page will be My account, select Password;

Next page will open for Change Password. Type in your present password in the Old password box and then put in a New password (at least 8 characters long, one capital letter and one number) Confirm the new password and then hit Submit. This will be your password for all IU accounts.

If you are not at the IU and change the password with this method, your old password will still be used to log into the laptop until you come into one of the IU buildings. As soon as you are either at 2 West Lafayette or 1605 Main Street the new password will need to be used and the laptop will update to that password for future use.
